Lineup @ Steelfest Open Air – Finland
Steelfest open air 2014 kick-starts the metal festival summer season third time in a row. The event is taking place at Hyvinkää, Finland on 16.-17. May 2014 featuring world-class bands from a limited genre of death-, black- and thrash metal. So far, the bands that have been confirmed are:

After 24 years of brutal Swedish Death Metal Vomitory split-up
After announcing the split earlier this year Vomitory have said goodbye to their fans at their last show in their hometown -Karlstad on the December 27, 2013. Before they called quits the band did a last tour of Europe and Japan. Their Facebook page states:

Emperor are back for their 20th Anniversary and will headline W:O:A 2014
Great news for Emperor fans: the band just announced on their Facebook that they will reunite to headline Wacken 2014 and some other exclusive festival shows like Sweden Rock or Bloodstock Open Air:

W:O:A 2014 – fastest Sold Out in the history of the festival Less than 48 hours after the tickets for the 25th Wacken Open Air 2014 went on sale, the 75.000 tickets were gone.
The biggest heavy metal festival is sold out for the ninth time in a row. The crew still works on the dismantling of the stages, some tents are still on the field and the W:O:A trash team is handling the waste on the campgrounds. But the organizer of the Wacken Open Air can already announce that the anniversary edition of the Wacken Open Air in 2014 is sold out! 75.000 tickets were sold in less than 48 hours.
For the 25th anniversary in 2014, following bands are confirmed: Amon Amarth, Apocalyptica with orchestra, Arch Enemy, Avantasia, Behemoth, Children of Bodom, Emperor, Iced Earth, King Diamond, Kreator, Prong and Schandmaul Further band announcements will be made at the W:O:A-Kick-Off Party at the Hamburg Metal Dayz at the 28th of September in Hamburg.
