RAMMSTEIN Performs New Song At Italy’s GODS OF METAL Festival (Video)

  • German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN kicked off their European summer festival tour last night (Thursday, June 2) with a headlining appearance at the Gods Of Metal festival in Monza, Italy. The group opened the concert with a brand new song, presumably from their forthcoming album, the details of which have not yet been revealed. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below. RAMMSTEIN last year released a 21st-anniversary box set, a numbered, career-wide collection titled “XXI”. The set included the band’s six studio albums, produced by Jacob Hellner and remastered onto 180-gram heavyweight double vinyl by Svante Forsbäck, as well as a separate rarities double LP, “Raritäten”, including a previously unreleased version of the track “Los”. RAMMSTEIN hasn’t made a new CD since 2009’s “Liebe Ist Für Alle Da”. The band’s frontman Till Lindemann last year released a debut album with his side project LINDEMANN. Rammstein: Back On!

The frontman Lindemann hinted in June 2015 for Rocksverige that Rammstein was in the process of writing new material. Finally they broke the silence of the past six years on their Facebook page. The fans have something to look forward to.

  • “We go down into the basement and start again with producing an album and you have to go through this… I don´t wanna say hell, but sometimes it´s really hard to consider yourself in this band situation. Six different persons with different egos and ideas and tastes. Is it worth it these days? They´re (fans) gonna download it and as you say, they consume it so fast, but I know there´s a lot of fans longing for new material so…”Till Lindemann in an interview with Rocksverige.se

Accept announced that former Grave Digger guitarist Uwe Lulis joined the band. They also announced that Christopher Williams joined the band as their new drummer.

  • The past, present and future for ACCEPT was, and still is, beyond the band’s imagination, but not beyond their reach! We all know they could not have come so far without their fans and the endless gifted people who are working so hard for ACCEPT! Thank you to all of them from all of us with the promise that we will come back — better and stronger and even more devoted than the last time

Megadeth announced that Kiko Loureiro of Angra will join Megadeath

Kiko-Loureiro-Dave-Mustaine-630x420

  • I first met Kiko around 8 years ago for a cover shoot for Burrn! magazine. I had no idea who he was, other than the fact he was tremendously talented and that the staff from Burrn! held him in high regard. Since then I’ve come to see what a guitar virtuoso he is, and I’m deeply encouraged by his depth and talent. Very few Megadeth alumni have had the same feel and ability as Kiko. As Frank Sinatra says, “the best is yet to come!” Dave Mustaine

BRUCE DICKINSON UNDERGOES CANCER TREATMENT

The following statement has been officially published by the band:

  • Just before Christmas, MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson visited his doctor for a routine check-up. This led to tests and biopsies which revealed a small cancerous tumour at the back of his tongue. A seven-week course of chemotherapy and radiology treatment was completed yesterday. As the tumour was caught in the early stages, the prognosis thankfully is extremely good. Bruce’s medical team fully expect him to make a complete recovery with the all clear envisaged by late May. It will then take a further few months for Bruce to get back to full fitness. In the meantime, we would ask for your patience, understanding and respect for Bruce and his family’s privacy until we update everyone by the end of May. Bruce is doing very well considering the circumstances and the whole team are very positive.

Behemoth to release official biography on Metal Blade Records – Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors out in February

Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors by Łukasz Dunaj serves as the definitive Behemoth biography. This book, officially blessed, or rather damned, by Behemoth, serves as an in depth look at the history of the events that materially influenced the band. As Dunaj points out in the intro, this isn’t “Poland’s response to Motley Crue’s biography The Dirt.” Simply put Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors is the story ofBehemoth, their music, and their rise to the upper echelon of metal and becoming a household name in their native homeland, Poland.

Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors is a 490 page, hardcover tome that is being released by Metal Blade Records in February 2015. The book includes quotes and anecdotes from current and former members that provide context and details in addition to the author’s narrative, plus interviews with Tomas Krajewski, Rob Darken, Graal, Havok, and more. The artistically presented pages are splattered with old scans of photos of the band, flyers, lyric sheets, etc. Pre-orders are available now at metalblade.com/behemoth. The passages below serve as previews to the book.

From the foreword by Krzysztof Azarewicz:
“If, as a cultural anthropologist, I were to point to a single cosmic force which Behemoth’s music expresses, I would name it not Satan but Dionysus. A deity that represents not only the intoxicating influence of cosmic energies and earthly benefits, but also their benevolent healing properties. A deity of strength and pride. A deity of creative might.”

Nergal discusses the acquisition of his first electric guitar:
“The first communion was a very important moment for me. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it’s true. Of course, not as a religion experience – I didn’t understand anything and couldn’t care less. Same as all the other kids. We all stood there with our votive candles and waited for one thing. Cash. The first communion must be one moment when you get the most money you’re ever going to get as a child. And for this money, I bought myself my first electric guitar. Not a bike, no Legos – a guitar.”
